Despite my hardest efforts I haven't even looked at my list in the last two weeks. Classes and girls nights have seriously cut into blogging time. However, as I sit listening to my roommates friends child squalling, I have to report a very sad happening.
Unknown to you I am an avid animal person. Not animal rights activist but just a person who loves animals, a lot. I have had countless dogs, cats, and other animals that I've been madly in love with. Currently I'm the proud owner of a 4 year old Appaloosa Gelding named Lucky. I will probably post about him at some point but not today. Today is mourn the puppy of a Facebook user whom we shall refer to as Sally Needsaslap.
I shall admit right now that I have multiple accounts on Facebook, Le Gasp! I have one for purely social things like talking to my friends and organizing rescues for dogs, the other is to host my addiction to Facebook games. And on this account Sally Needsaslap is a neighbor of mine who does not have a separate account for her social activity and posts it on all of her neighbors walls as well. One day when logging in to shamelessly solicit the need of coin on a pointless game, I discover a photo of Mrs. Needsaslap's child cuddling an adorable Shepherd puppy. “Awe,” I thought, “how sweet.” Until I read the caption. “Child Needsaslap with new puppy... at least his hands arn't around his neck. (Yet).”

My reaction was to stop and read this twice before thinking, “Oh I'm sure she's just joking!” But no, below the post's its comments told the truth. “What happened to the dog?” Mrs Needsaslap's friend asks. “Nothing, but he's already killed Muffin and Tinkles...” Say what?! Here is where I take into consideration that I do not know the entire story, I don't know who they are or if this is a regular thing in their family but the fact that Mrs. Needsaslap has already lost TWO animals to this child and has bought him another one is, in my mind, unacceptable! Lets take in some proper parenting and get the kid some councling please! “Their dad turned their back on them and he just wanted to give them some loves and it didn't go so well.” No! I'm sorry, no well meaning “loves” ends in death! Even if it is a small kitten.
Today as I checked up on the story to make sure I had the quotes semi-right and guess what I found out? Yes the puppy is dead, not 5 days after the entail post. I almost want to cry about it, the only thing that's reassuring is that according to Mrs. Needsaslap, it wasn't the child who killed the puppy but their older dog. Still a sad fate for poor puppy Mixedup.
And Mrs. Needsaslap, if you ever read this. Know that suing me will be near to impossible and I do hope you have learned a lesson about mixing your social life with people you don't know.
