Okay, I know I didn't post on Tuesday like I said I would. Why? You ask. Simple, I'm this much closer to completing number 2 on my list. That's right, this blogger had a job interview! I'm pretty confident my ability to blabbering like an incompetent fool didn't hinder me this time! The interview was an hour and a half away from my disgustingly filthy dorm in the secluded northwestern hills of Michigan. Rising Hope Riding Center is a wonderful facility that caters to young riders, nervous riders, and riders with disabilities. The position I applied for is like something out of a dream for me. There is an apartment above the barn that I would stay in, partial board for a horse, and the opportunity to become a CHA instructor. So that is why yours truly neglected her blog post for Tuesday. So onward with the book review.
I try and read books that are either little known or widely known and my taste in book genre is vastly wide. This weeks book is called “Fantasy Lover” by Sherrilyn Kenyon. While the books have a sturdy fan base, I think is needs more attention. Kenyon's books are, for the most part romance novels with a refreshing supernatural twist to them. “Fantasy Lover” encompasses Grace Alexander and her journey with a mysterious man whom she summons from a book. The first in Kenyon's Dark-Hunter series it introduces us to a world that is very plausibly running parallel to ours. Julian is the leading man for this particular book, Kenyon paints him as seductive and sarcastic to a fault. Grace is a sex therapist who had a hard time believing much of anything her Psychic best friend Selena has to say. This book introduces us to the cast we shall be seeing throughout Keyon's Dark-Hunter Series and a fine cast it is. Kenyon's wit and charm shine through in this novel and lays way for several more excellent books!
And now because I sadly didn't Blog on Thursday or Saturday. My movie review. I wont be Blogging about random events until later because I have a ton of homework to do. XD
I use the term “Review” loosely, I'm not a movie expert, I just watch a several dozen a week. This week I sit watching “How To Tame Your Dragon” with my roommate and I'm thinking this would be a good movie to start with.
“How To Train Your Dragon” is a somewhat harrowing tale of a young boy named Hiccup(Jay Barchuel) who lives in a viking village that is known for killing dragons. He ends up downing a “Night Fury” in with the intent of killing it to show his village that hes one of them and ends up befriending it. Even though this movie seems to mainly be about animal rights and not killing things, I'm partial to the “fearing what you don't understand” aspect of it as well, and the tiny cat-like dragons. The movie has a quick and very witty dialog especially for an animated film. Along with the superb cast including America Ferra, Craig Ferguson, and Gerard Butler the movie makes for a warm and cuddly family movie. It is a movie that will be placed in my collection if I ever get the money and ambition to go to the store and buy it.
Well there you have it! I've finally posted what I said I would!
